Chicago Multifamily Portfolio (Portage Park, Montclare, Harwood Heights)

SCM acquired 5 multifamily buildings on the northwest side of Chicago between 2016 and 2018. 2 of the buildings were within city limits in the Portage Park and Montclare neighborhoods, while the other 3 were just outside of Chicago in Harwood Heights, IL.

All buildings were completely gutted and modernized, including all new plumbing, HVAC, electrical, windows, doors, LED lighting, high efficiency appliances, quartz countertops, kitchen cabinets, refinished floors, tiling, tubs, toilets, sinks, and all fixtures. 

Upon completion, we placed our own high-quality tenants and achieved rents that were were 30-60% above nearby market levels. All buildings were 100% occupied within a month of finishing each rehab.

SCM ran general contracting, leasing, and management.

Acquired: 2016 through 2018.

Status: Sold as a portfolio in May of 2019 with Interra Realty.
